The Fidget Drawer
Grow the Mycelium
Tap the soil to plant a spore, and watch fine threads wander, branch and join up into a network. Feed it leaf litter, and look out for mushrooms: each one holds a piece from the Library, linked to the others by what they are about.
How to play
- Tap or click the soil to plant a spore. Its threads wander, branch, and join up with other threads where they meet.
- Press and hold (or drag, or choose Leaf litter) to drop leaf litter. Threads nearby turn towards it, and feeding makes them burst into new branches.
- Mushrooms grow where the network is thickest. Each one holds a piece from the Library related to its spore; one growing where two spores have joined holds a piece that links them both.
- Compost returns the network to the soil. Pause stops the growing, Save picture keeps a copy, and Look changes the colours.
- Calm mode grows the network out of sight and fades it in, with nothing moving on its own.
- With the soil selected, the keyboard works too: arrow keys move the cursor (Shift for bigger steps), Enter plants, L drops leaf litter, Space pauses or plays and C composts. Mushrooms are buttons you can Tab to.
